My 2013 Blogging Goals

I swear the older I get, the faster time passes! I can’t believe 2012 is almost done. It’s been quite a year! Each year I make a list of blogging goals that I work toward in the new year. This year’s list isn’t that long, but are all things that I want to focus my attention on more.

2013 blogging goals

More recipes. I want to post a new recipe at least once a week. I really enjoy cooking and trying new dishes and want to work on my food photography skills.

Work on building my Email List. I have my weekly newsletter as well as my daily feed newsletter on Mad Mimi. I currently have 20,000+ subscribers. I’m thinking about doing a subscriber only giveaway each month as a way to thank people for subscribing.

Reorganizing on the backend. I’m planning to NoIndex short posts (ie. expired coupons, old group giveaways, etc), finish adding the nofollow tags to older posts and organizing my categories especially my Random category.

PhotoShop. I have it on my computer, but need to actually jump in there and use it. I paid for it so I might as well right?

Pinterest. I’m active on Pinterest, but would like to join more and/or start more group boards with other bloggers.

Continue working on my photography. I want to buy at least one new lens this year.

What blogging goals have you set for 2013?

  1. Thanks so much for sharing your 2013 blogging goals with us, Stacie! Looks like a great set of goals to accomplish and there’s no doubt that you’ll do it! Happy New Year!

  2. Those are good goals! I would like to purchase photoshop and get another lens also! And Pinterest…lol! I am so bad with that but need to get better!

  3. I have two bogs, but I did create a post so far for the new blog. My goals are pretty similar to yours. Here’s my post: http://www.thefrugalbatavian.com/my-2013-blogging-goals/

  4. I also want to buy one new lens this year. Indeed a new computer, so will get that then buy photo shop. I want to set up a photo staging area as well.

I need to go through old posts to make sure they’re no follow and have keywords etc. then promote them again.

  5. I need to take more photos. I wish I had a better camera…

  6. Excellent goals Stacie! I love your fantastic recipes and you are doing so well on your photography! Can’t wait to see more yummy recipes from you in 2013!

  7. I have so much backend stuff to reorganize and clean up! I think I’ll finally have time for it this year. And congrats on your subscriber numbers!

  8. I too want to do way more with photography. I want a DSLR camera so bad and this is my year to get one.. just saving up my pennies. :)

  9. Photoshop is one I need to work on in 2013. I too have it but don’t know how to use it beyond simple image editing! Goals I have for blogging in the new year include more evergreen content (recipes, parenting info, etc, less reviews and giveaways, more engagement, and better organization!

  10. Ha! I have PhotoShop too and have done zilch with it! I thought I could “teach” myself and instantly realized that wasn’t going to happen. Almost a year later and still it sits.

  11. Love your goals – so many I can relate to

  12. Stay humble always Ms. Stacie.. You might want to aa more giveaways in this year. HAHAH LOL :)

  13. I really need to get a better camera. I’ve been saying it for a year now, and finances are just too tight for something awesome. At this point, though, a new point and shoot would be better than the one I’m working with! I want to add recipes to my site too, but I won’t be the one making them! Getting the boyfriend to do that. I wouldn’t want to accidentally poison my readers! I once mistook directions saying “add a clove of garlic” for “add a bulb of garlic.” Hey, at least we were all pretty heart-healthy that month!

  14. Those are good blogging goals. I like that you want to focus more on new recipes.
